Everyone is uniformly complimentary
about our food. They really are. Three meals a day
are included*. We generally serve buffet and BBQ-style
meals and always manage to cater for all tastes. Guests
may choose where and when they dine and may eat as
much as they like.

We normally serve Western and Indonesian-style dishes.
These include grilled or barbequed fish, squid, prawns,
beef and chicken as well as curries of all description.
There are side dishes which include fresh garden salads,
pasta salads, boiled/steamed leafy greens and grilled
aubergine/egg plant (an island favourite). Prawn and
tofu kebabs appear from time-to-time as do satay sticks.
Our home-made salad dressing is raved about as is
our freshly-baked bread. We serve fresh fruit, mango
sticky rice and sometimes sago as well as home-made
cakes for dessert (the almond cake has now been perfected).
But just in case you think we are biased, here are
some quotes from recent guests:
“I thought the food
was great. There was plenty and it was always of a
high standard. The really frightening thing was that
it was also healthy!”
George Adam
“I really loved the
food so much. We had really delicious healthy salads
every day and I kept saying, ‘how come they
can get it right on this little remote island but
not in Singapore?’ “
Pamela Fahey
CHILDRENS MENUS & MEAL TIMES
Separate (earlier) sittings are no problem to arrange.
We successfully ‘dumb-down’ the food (ie
reduce or eliminate spicy food) for kids on a regular
basis. For infants (who may need bottles to be boiled)
and fussy eaters, parents are welcome to work directly
with our kitchen staff - in the kitchen if necessary
- preparing meals. If in doubt, you are welcome to
bring your own food and store it in our fridge for
preparation under your directions.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served at the Main House from dawn until
lunch time. Try the omelettes and pancakes. The bread
baked on the island is delicious.
LUNCH & PICNICS
Lunch by the pool is a marvellous option. Or try a
picnic lunch on one of our other islands. Say the
word and it just happens …

DINNER
A candle-lit dinner by the pool, followed by coffee
and drinks around a beach bonfire anyone ?
SNACKS
Snacks will appear on a regular basis – banana
fritters, nuts, fruit, cake, Indonesian prawn crackers
and so on. A recent guest taught our head cook how
to make cinnamon rolls and these now appear on a regular
basis. Please ask the staff for snacks whenever you
are hungry. There is no charge.
DIETARY REQUESTS & NOTES
We don’t serve pork on the island. So unfortunately bacon aficionados won’t see it at breakfast.
Neither do we serve shellfish (clams, oysters etc).
We use olive oil for most of the cooking. We often
cater for vegetarians and guests with serious allergies.
We have a had a number of guests with nut allergies
for example and our staff are fully aware of the consequences
of anaphylactic shock and take great care to avoid
using nuts under such circumstances. We do however
suggest you make yourself known to the kitchen staff
on arrival. We ask for at least 48-hours notice for
any dietary requests.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
If you ask for Lobster Mornay you are probably going
to be disappointed, however try us with your special
requests. It never hurts to ask … On a number
of occasions guest have brought frozen turkeys from
Singapore (as they are not available in our part of
Indonesia) and our cooks have produced veritable feasts
for Christmas as well as Thanksgiving celebrations.

OTHER
You are welcome to put any of your own food in our
fridge. We do not have a shop on the island. If you
are going to crave chocolate for example or marshmallows
for the evening fire, you’ll have to bring your
own. But trust us, you’re unlikely to be hungry
at any point.
